Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring with me on my paddleboard adventure?

We provide all of our guests with a 15L dry bag to keep your belongings dry for your adventure. We also provide a smartphone dry pouch so you can keep it safe and dry.

 

We recommend that you bring the following items to make your experience that much better!

-Sunglasses with lanyard

-Hat

-Sunscreen

-Beach Towel 

-Drinks and Snacks

-Smartphone for photos!

Do I need a wetsuit or a drysuit for paddleboarding in the Cowichan Valley?

Depending on the weather, most people tent to go paddleboarding without a wetsuit from sometime in June until about mid September. The potential for immersion is high so synthetic clothing is best. Avoid cotton clothing. Unfortunately, We do not offer wetsuit rentals at this time.

What should I wear Paddleboarding?

When you go paddle boarding it is important to dress accordingly for the weather.  If you’re paddle boarder on a nice day we recommend wearing sunglasses, beach attire, and things you’re comfortable getting wet. If it’s cool we recommend layering with wool or synthetic materials. We recommend against the use of cotton. Be prepared to get wet anytime you use a paddleboard.

Is Stand-Up Paddleboarding good for my lower back?

Paddleboarding can be an excellent way to improve your lower back health. The constant paddling motion helps to strengthen your core and back muscles, which can help reduce pain, improve posture, and increase stability. Regular paddleboarding also helps to stretch and lengthen the muscles in your lower back, which can help reduce tension and improve your overall mobility. Furthermore, the relaxing nature of paddleboarding can help reduce stress, which can lead to improved lower back health. With its many health benefits, paddleboarding can be a great way to improve your lower back health and overall wellbeing!

Is Stand-Up Paddleboarding hard to do?

Stand up paddleboarding is an incredibly easy water sport to learn, and you can become an expert paddle boarder in no time! People of all ages and fitness levels are capable of learning to paddle board in just a few hours with proper instruction.

What if the weather becomes stormy and rainy at the time of my tour?

No problem, we can issue you a full refund or a credit towards another paddleboard adventure at a later date. Refunds are usually issued between 1-2 business days.
