Pristine Paddleboard Adventures' Year in Review

As the sun sets on 2023, Pristine Paddleboard Adventures takes a moment to reflect on an incredible inaugural year, filled with thrilling adventures, serene paddles, and the warm embrace of the waters of Cowichan Lake.

A Heartfelt Thank You to the Cowichan Lake Community

Our journey began in the crisp spring of 2023 when Pristine Paddleboard Adventures set up shop in the picturesque Gordon Bay Provincial Park. From the outset, the local community in Honeymoon Bay and around Cowichan Lake welcomed us with open arms. We are grateful for the support, enthusiasm, and encouragement that have been the wind in our sails throughout the year. Local businesses helped spread the word of our new business venture and made us feel very welcomed in the community.

Paddleboarding Paradise

Our facility in Gordon Bay Provincial Park became a hub for paddleboarding enthusiasts and nature lovers who were visiting the park but didn't have equipment to get out on the water. With the backdrop of stunning Cowichan Lake, we offered paddleboard rentals that allowed locals and visitors to explore the pristine waters at their own pace. A quick-start lesson on the beach ensured everyone understood the mechanics of the forward stroke, along with safety considerations while on the water. We also had the pleasure of offering a guided Gordon Bay Islands Tour. Guests have mentioned that the breathtaking scenery and tranquil surroundings made their paddle a unique and unforgettable experience.

Welcoming the World

What truly made our first season exceptional was the diverse group of international adventurers. We had the pleasure of hosting paddleboarders from near and far, including Australia, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil, Japan, Colombia, Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the USA. It was heartening to see individuals from around the globe come together at Cowichan Lake to share in the joy of paddleboarding and the beauty of our surroundings.

Empowering Waters: Ladies Night Paddleboard Skills Class

This past year, Pristine Paddleboard Adventures launched our eagerly awaited "Ladies Night" paddleboard skills class on Thursday evenings. Against the stunning backdrop of the bay, our participants delved into the fundamentals of the forward stroke, honing their paddle skills, building a deeper understanding of the sport and building confidence on the water. Whether bringing their own equipment or opting for our rentals, our Ladies Night became a cherished gathering for women of all skill levels to connect, learn, and, most importantly, have fun. Due to popular demand, we're thrilled to announce the continuation of Ladies Night on select Thursday nights throughout the upcoming season, from May to August. Our booking calendar is now open, offering spots for the 2024 season. You can book your spot in any of the upcoming Ladies Night events HERE

Finding Zen on the Water: The Harmony Flow Yoga and Paddleboard Experience

Our first ever Harmony Flow Yoga and Paddleboard event with Inner Balance Yoga was led and hosted by Julie Madden from Inner Balance Yoga. Nestled amidst the towering trees of Gordon Bay Provincial Park, the serene setting provided the perfect backdrop to kickstart the day. The morning commenced with an invigorating hour of Flow Yoga: Harmonizing mind and body. Following this rejuvenating practice, participants transitioned to the beach, donning gear for a one-hour paddle to discover their zen on the water. We're thrilled to announce that more dates for this extraordinary event will be unveiled in the coming weeks! Stay tuned as we continue to explore the harmonious connection between yoga and paddleboarding in the heart of nature.
