Pristine Paddleboard Adventures 2024 Year in Review

As 2024 comes to a close, we at Pristine Paddleboard Adventures are reflecting on an incredible year filled with exciting new offerings, memorable moments, and the joy of sharing the beauty of Cowichan Lake with paddleboarding enthusiasts from around the globe.

This year, we proudly launched our new Glow Cruise Light & Sound Experience, a unique adventure quickly becoming a favourite among our guests. Imagine gliding across the tranquil waters of Cowichan Lake under a canopy of stars, your paddleboard illuminated by soft, colorful LED lights and a curated soundtrack that sets the perfect mood. The Glow Cruise has elevated nighttime paddleboarding, bringing a sense of wonder and magic to the experience. We’ve been thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response and can’t wait to continue offering this special experience in 2025.

Another exciting addition to our offerings this year was the introduction of healthy snacks available at our "Paddle Pod." We’ve partnered with amazing local brands to provide our guests with delicious and nourishing options to fuel their adventures. From the refreshing flavors of Tofino Kombucha to the wholesome goodness of Hornby organic bars to the savory delight of Hardy Buoys Salmon Jerky, these snacks have been a hit with our paddlers. It’s been wonderful to support local Vancouver Island businesses while enhancing the experience for our guests.

2024 was also a record-breaking year for us regarding rentals and tours. We rented out over 300 paddleboards, helping countless guests explore the pristine waters of Gordon Bay at their own pace. Additionally, we conducted 32 guided tours and experiences, ranging from serene daytime paddles to the Gordon Bay Islands and beyond to our Glow Cruise in the evenings. Each tour has been a unique opportunity to connect with our guests, share our passion for the lake's natural beauty and paddleboarding, and create lasting memories.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this year has been meeting paddleboarders from all corners of the globe. Cowichan Lake has welcomed visitors from North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond, bringing their stories and excitement to the water. It’s a privilege to be part of their journey and showcase our region's incredible paddleboarding opportunities.

We were featured in the BC Ale Trail Road Trip Journals this year, and it was such a great experience hosting Vince Hempsall, a writer from Paddle BC, along with his parents at our location. He was kind enough to come out to paddle with us twice in one day! HERE is a link to the article.

We are also very proud to announce that we are recognized as a certified Red Paddle Co. demo center. We have been featured on Red Paddle Co's website under their "Places to Paddle" page. Check out their article HERE. We are thrilled to be working with our esteemed partners at Red Paddle Co and we look forward to continuing to provide top-quality gear and equipment for all of our guests into 2025.

A special thank you to BC Parks and K2 Park Services for their support in helping us provide paddleboard recreation and accessibility to all park guests. Gordon Bay Provincial Park is the crown jewel of Cowichan Lake, and it is an honour to help showcase the area as a Stand-Up Paddleboard destination.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for the support of our community, our partners, and, most importantly, our guests. We’re already planning new experiences and enhancements to make next year even more unforgettable! Whether you’re a seasoned paddleboarder or trying it for the first time, we welcome all to visit us and get out on the water for a Pristine Paddleboard Adventure!

Here’s to another year of adventures, connection, and the unmatched beauty of Cowichan Lake. Thank you for making 2024 an extraordinary year. We’ll see you on the water in 2025!

Happy New Year!
